Northern United Rugby Football Club Inc was established in 1990 as a result of the amalgamation of the Porirua and Titahi Bay Rugby Football Clubs. Norths is the playing name that associates Northern United RFC within the Wellington Rugby Football Union.
Headquarters for North's is at Trust Porirua Park, Mungavin Ave, Porirua. This facility is rated the Top Premier ground in the Wellington competition, and lies second only to the Westpac Stadium.
Club membership is 300 playing members in the senior club and 340 social members. In the schoolboy sections there are approximately 350 playing members with significant parental support. In total the Norths Rugby Club has some form of participation from approximately 1,000 people in the local community.
The Norths clubrooms is also used by the Wellington Rugby Football Union for their aftermatch functions when they play representative games at Trust Porirua Park.
The Northern United Rugby Football Club is one of the City of Porirua’ s major sporting associations delivering community based sport to 1500 to 2500 players throughout the Porirua region.
